Glass Bubblers – Impressive Experience   by Audrey Lewis

Glass pipes and blubbers have been prized possessions among users and have always inspired awe, commanding attention and making heads turn in the society. Glass bubblers have been in vogue for a long time in the history of mankind, enhancing the image of the protagonist male and having been depicted in novels and fiction as a symbol of command and respect. The traditional pipes consist of a chamber, or the bowl, where the combustion of the tobacco takes place; this is followed by a thin stem that is stylishly moulded and extending on to the mouthpiece. The difference in the case of bubblers is that they feature a storage component for water at the base of the chamber. And when it comes to the artistic design, the glass can only be said to be a step above the glass pipes, given their majestic curve and the classy colours and shades that they are available in.

The structure, shape, colour and feel have turned them into pieces of art worth a collector’s memorabilia, given the care and attention that they get in their being moulded into the unique shapes and styles that they come in. And when it comes to the actual smoking experience, provide a rather enjoyable experience that goes on to add to the aroma and flavour of the tobacco in them. The water performs the essential function of cooling the smoke. When the glass bubblers are used, the smoke goes down the chamber and makes bubbles in the water found in the chamber, resulting in a smooth hit of smoke every time the smoke is drawn in.

Some connoisseurs compare with what are colloquially called the ‘bongs’, on account of the unique and inimitable feel associated with every puff of smoke drawn through the water and amidst the bubbles. The only advantage in the case is that they are portable unlike their larger companions. The glass bubblers are hand blown and skilfully made with a lot of care, with the full understanding that they are not purchased just for their functionality but for the look and feel, along with their inimitable style which makes it a connoisseur’s collection of art. After that, the carvers use machetes, chisels, and other homemade tools, some made from old harrow disks.
